Current Sermon Series – Forgiveness

Forgiveness can be complicated. Forgiveness can be hard. It can be hard to accept that you could be forgiven by God or others, it can be hard to see your need to be forgiven by God or others, and it can be hard to believe you could forgive someone who has greatly wronged you.

In this sermon series we will see the unbelievable grace of God in His total forgiveness, and how this stems from the cross of Jesus Christ. The ultimate display of forgiveness happened when Jesus was being crucified on the cross and He prayed, “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). You can grow in accepting this real and total forgiveness that will set you free.

But let’s not stop there: experiencing the forgiveness of God leads us to forgive others. Colossians 3:14 says “as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive” (Col 3:14). That is a tough word! It is not something we can snap our fingers and simply do. But God is the author of forgiveness and He invites us into His love in order that we forgive with His forgiveness. I hope you will join us for this journey into the depths of forgiveness.

Below is a rough outline of where we are going. I hope you will join us as we explore the eternally significant topic of forgiveness.
